Bobbie Baker is the proud mother of an angel warrior named Nova. Her family is among the many that our foundation has had the honor to support, creating special moments during challenging times. In 2019, at the age of four, Nova was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma. Over the past five years, Bobbie has navigated the ups and downs of the brain cancer journey, celebrating victories and facing hardships alongside her daughter. This experience fuels her passion for raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.
Professionally, Bobbie has spent nearly two decades helping families find their new homes. Now, she is dedicated to pursuing her dream of working with children, currently studying psychology with the goal of becoming a child life specialist. As a birth mother to five and a bonus mom to two, she and her husband, Justin, have been married since 2006, standing strong through the beautiful and heartbreaking experiences of their daughter’s battle.
Inspired by Nova, Bobbie authored the children’s book Raise Your Hand if This is You, aimed at encouraging conversations about diversity and the uniqueness of every child.
Nova had a big heart and loved helping others. For four years, she led “Nova’s Treasures,” delivering toys during the holidays to Texas Children’s Hospital. CKMC plans to honor her memory by continuing this tradition.
Bobbie is thrilled to join the team, looking forward to creating special moments, providing support, and fostering connections with our families.
